Happy June everyone. I must say, I have been more impressed with the bunker renovations than I originally thought I would be. These white sandy bunkers are starting to grow in nicely. I hope that you are as happy and pleased with the project as I am and I want to thank everyone with their patience during this process.  I think it was worth the wait.

Now on to grass stuff. The golf course has really healed up nicely from some of the scarring that we created during the bunker renovation and it will only continue to get better. Some of the new approaches are still a little scalped but will continue to fill in and it will be our goal to top dress these areas and make them really smooth. I hope to see them so smooth, that many of you will choose to putt from these surfaces. That means we are doing a good job. The weed pressure has certainly improved over the past few months and we will continue to spot treat all emerging weeds. We are going to win this war! Coming in July we will spray an additional pre-emergent weed control to further keep us clean through the summer.

Some dates to note, The Miller Golf Course will be closed from June 28th and open back up July 2nd. We will basically poke holes in everything but the cart path. We will aerate the greens, tees, fairways, collars, approaches and the rough. This process, although disruptive, is essential to keeping the golf course progressing in the right direction. We will do all we can to minimize the disruption, but this action is very important to the health of the turf. The Weiskopf course will get its aeration in July. More to come on that.

As always I will be happy to answer any questions you may have. You can email me at [email protected]. Also, I am "trying" to keep things updated on our blog.

I look forward to seeing you out there enjoying the golf course.
