GRAND PINES GOLF CLUB

The new, 182-acre, 18-hole Grand Pines is designed in the tradition of some of America's classic courses such as Pinehurst and Pine Valley.

Admittedly, coming up with a new golf course to rival our Weiskopf/Morrish and Miller courses was a tremendous challenge - which is why we didn't just design another golf club; we created a classic. The 182- acre, 18-hole Grand Pines is designed in the tradition of some of America's classic courses such as Pinehurst and Pine Valley. A classic-play, all-green course, Grand Pines is highlighted by rolling hills, water features and heavily wooded surroundings. Paying tribute to the "golden age of golf course design" the fairways will be forever defined by pine and hardwood forest without encumbrances from houses, streets or backyards; providing the ultimate experience for golfing in the wild.

Becoming a founding member places you in very select company, far from the crowd. When you arrive, you are welcomed at your vehicle by our friendly Member Service Attendants. As they unload your clubs, you'll be ushered into the Lodge, where another attendant will assist you in registering. Be sure to stop by the Pro Shop to see the latest in quality golf gear expressly chosen for members of Grand Pines, or get that last minute tip from the Golf Pro. As anxious as you and your companions might be to get onto the greens, breakfast at the Lodge is not to be missed. And there's always a fresh cup of coffee to go with a friendly wager on the outcome of today's round.

Arriving at your waiting golf cart, you'll be invited to warm up with a few practice putts. Notice how carefully polished your clubs have become since you last put them away. A small touch perhaps, but attention to detail is what separates Grand Pines from others. Of course, your attendant for the day will share the course conditions, hole location and any special events that might be of interest to you, like the family of raccoons that have made their home in the woods beyond the ninth hole. Your attendant's sole purpose is to make your experience at Grand Pines special, whether it's your first visit of the month or your third that week. The Grand Pines Founding Membership, a once in a lifetime opportunity.

And then, what you've been relishing the entire morning is laid out before you, eighteen amazing holes, nestled between a 160,000-acre national forest and a 22,000-acrelake. This remarkable course pays tribute to the "golden age of golf course design" when golf courses were laid out on virgin land without encumbrances from houses or streets. At Grand Pines it's just Mother Nature, the ball, and you.

At the podium, after the third hole, you can let the staff know if there's anything you need. But if you forget to mention something, don't worry, because your attendant for the day will check back with you after the ninth hole to make sure you're comfortable. Courtesy asks you to let the deer play through on the tenth hole; they'll certainly be the only course residents to interrupt your round. After the strokes are totaled up, congratulations and consolations handed out, and all bets settled - your attendant will escort you back to the Lodge for lunch. They'll be waiting for you with your favorite afterround drink.

While 18 holes of golf in the wild may have quenched your appetite for fresh air, there's always room for another delicious meal from the After Golf Menu. You may want to freshen up inside the well-appointed locker rooms, or just sit back in the lounge and argue the pros and cons of a nine iron on the approach to the 12th hole. Has that bunker always been there? How can 18 holes of golf leave you feeling drained and rejuvenated at the same time?

That's the membership experience at Grand Pines. Enjoying classic golf and leaving with a sense of satisfaction and a tinge of regret for not being able to stay just a bit longer. So, be sure to arrange your next tee time before the attendant loads your bag - because the forest is always beckoning you to return.
